Stolen Guitars
I had a break-in at my home in Houston on the night of July 20, 2007, and four of my guitars were stolen (among lots of other things); a Gretsch Tennessean, a Rickenbacker 12-string, an Alvarez acoustic 12-string, and a Hohner 6-string Classical guitar. I have filed a police report.
The Gretsch Tennessean is probably from 1963 or so. It has a dark reddish-brown finish, has some small cracks in the finish, and one of the switch knobs above the neck pickup is noticeably larger than the other. There is a black plastic cover (seems to be made of layered black-and-white pickguard material) holding the jack to the guitar. The tuning peg for the high E string is loose. A black strip of felt woven is between the strings below the bridge.

The 1980 Rickenbacker 620/12 is red with a badly cracked and broken white pickguard (more than is visible in the photograph). The serial number is TB444.
The Hohner Classical is a basic inexpensive instrument with little by which to identify it. It has an electric pickup mounted, with a jack for a plug-in cable in the end pin.

The Alvarez acoustic has a very thin finish; apparently whoever owned it before me stripped most of the finish off. There are some light streaks around the pickguard. The fretboard has been lightly scalloped. There is no label on the headstock; the only place where the brand is mentioned is on the label visible inside the soundhole. It has had an electric pickup mounted within the bridge, and the jack for the cable is in the end pin.
